Attempts are working!...

Hello!

Well things are going so good! I finally have a job that pays me in US currency-actually I have two jobs! Well three if you count the internship!! The Gap is a great place to work. Everytime I am done with a (4hour) shift I think to myself-"That's a shirt...or a pair of pants!" It makes it all worth it!

I am hoping to get more fragrance hours. I will know more about that the end of this month. So no shopping until that actually happens! Dang!

My internship is great. I am busy all the time, and am learning a lot of new things. For example, how to write a press release, internet research for specific sites in health; mostly the research is in search of newspapers that have health and business sections and that are also international. I was hoping to get to work more on the Awards Dinner coming up on the 28th but doesn't seem like that is happening. I dont think the girl incharge of that wanted me to team up or assist her. Maybe she could feel my energy and creativity and she didn't want me to take her job?!... Whatever!

I went to institute last night! At the right building, at the right time! It was being held in the RS room, and it was full. The teacher was so great. I met some people, I was asked to stand and introduce myself. Most of the pep's going to this class are from DC 2nd ward. I need to find out if the class is Tuesday and thursday or just tuesday. It seemed like just tuesday, and then a different class was thursday, but I am not sure but will find out tomorrow!

ANyways, that is pretty much the news of the week for now. Hopefully more exciting things will happen- they always do!

Life is moving on without me!~

So, wow I am really bad at this whole blog thing! It is like writing in a journal, which I am also horrible at. HOwever, I think my journal may have more postings than this blog for the past few weeks!
Okay so lets refresh...Last friday was a very exciting day at the internship. I was invited to a staff meeting. It only lasted about 10mins, but I felt like a total big girl.
I taught YW's last sunday-all the girls. The lesson was personal purity through self discipline. I think Valayne is really enjoying this whole niece living with her idea. You see she was suppose to give this lesson and passed it off to me. I must say she was going to be out of town to visit the inlaws, but then got deathly ill. So my lesson went really well. I think the girls really enjoyed the line test, as did my sister's and I still do! However, I am pretty sure they enjoyed my handout better seeing as they pretty much tripped each other to get one.
I finally am starting at Gap. Training is today and tomorrow from 6-9pm. Fragrance went very well and I am hoping for some more glamorous hours in the nearer future!

Second Attempt!...

So yesterday I had planned that I would go to Institute in D.C. I had on a very cute outfit (of course!) and had planned my day accordingly so that I would be able to go. I drove about an hour to the church in D.C. I got there a FEW minutes early. I was one of three cars in the parking lot. So I waited a little, youung adults are not the most prompt except for anial Kirbie! At 7:40pm I realized institute was not happening! I laughed, and called my Mom.

I drove home (45 minutes) and the thought couldn't stop running through my mind that obedience brings blessings as well as doing things that are hard, and I am due for so many blessings!! Which is so great because I need some help!

I came in the door and Valayne says, "How was it?!" with a confused look on her face knowing that I wasn't gone long enough. I told her I was going to make up this huge story, but that I wasn't really good at that so I told her the real story, and sometimes those are more enjoyable, as has been my experience!

Today I am at the good ole internship. I need some more projects...
After work I will be making a trip to Gap...to get that all figured out. Hopefully that attempt will not fail! :)

Well, more to come soon (I am sure!) but for now, eat a twix bar for me!

Birthday cake for breakfast?!...

Hello!

I am eating birthday cake for breakfast. Yesterday I had vowed that I will never eat again due to the fact that I could barely get some of my favorite jeans on! Well...I am avoiding that bridge!

I wanted to thank everyone for your birthday wishes and love that was sent my way yesterday. This far away and people still remember me! I am so grateful for all who love and support me. It sure does help when you're miles away from what you are "use to".

Today....who knows what will happen. I have never been so unpredictable before in my life! I guess 26 years old is never too late to start!

My toast is ready to be buttered...ta ta for now!

The storm brought changes for sure!...

Today I went to the DC singles ward, it is called DC 2nd Ward. Much better than the terribly sad FHE experience last week. Although I only stayed an hour because I needed to go to my family ward, I am feeling good vibes for weeks to come in the DC 2nd Ward!
A new week is ahead of me...what will happen this week?!?!?!?!....So much unpredictable excitment it gives butterflies. My goal: A job that pays-money that is, payes money!!
Well that is all for today-it is a day of rest so I can only type so many words or I would be breaking the sabbath!! haha

Week 2...who knew!

Last night was a crazy, wicked storm. I thought I was going to have to sleep with my aunt and uncle for safety!

So another week! Things are going good. Except that of course on friday I wore the WRONG shoes again. Who would have thought innocent looking flats would create such large blisters on the bottom of my feet! Anyways, I was givien more to do at my Internship, which makes me very happy and excited to go! Still no word back from the Gap. However I am going to be proactive and get things done instead of waiting on others! What a thought... eh?!

On Monday-Yes my birthday, I will be going to the NIH and talking with the HR department to see about whatels I can do to hopefully get a position there. I will also be going into Nordstroms and talking with them about any open positions....basically working my magic. I should be getting more magic since it will be a special day!

I am loving it here on the east coast. It is beautiful! However, I have had some majorly bad hair days! I dont even want to talk about them. I will say three words- bozo the clown- you get what I am saying?!

Well it is time to get ready for the back to school bbq!

This Week

So I have been busy taking this move all in...the weather, the GREEEN (...the move in general) and of course things are good! I am interning at a non profit organization calledPan America Health Organization. The first day, Monday was a little boring but things are progressing. I have projects I am working on such as helping with an award dinner coming up the end of September. I was asked to find pictures for a power point that reflect "all the good things PAHEF" has done. PAHEF is Pan America Health Foundation and is apart of the PAHO and WHO (World Health Organization). I also had an assignment to find out information regarding Immigration and the health related issues concerning the Border Trade Alliance . Other things PAHO/PAHEF is targeting is child obesity, the salt initative, aging and health (Merck Institute).
It is so exciting to have things to do!...and to feel apart of such a great effort to imporvoe health in the Americas.
I go to my internship three days a week for five hours. For lunch, Uncle Tom and I try new places and then go and take a walk around the White House!! So amazing! Who ever though I would work near the White House. No, I have not seen Obama, but I have seen one of the police dogs! Maybe just as cool?!
I am still waiting to hear back from GAP, maybe my background check isnt going so well!!
Well, my goal in this blog is to keep you up daily. I am working on pictures from my new life as well as some entertaining stories...just give it time (for the blind dates to kick in!)
